These digital photos of the July 4th, 2011 fireworks display at the Chelsea Piers were taken with my Nikon D80 and a telephoto lens.  The title of this series was inspired by the date of the celebration, which is obvious, but also by the freedom I experience as I create these images.  of course, I see theses as a sub-set of “City Lights.”

Some of these photographs were first exhibited at the Echo Art Fair in Buffalo, NY, and are available in an edition of six, printed with archival pigment inks on a state of the art high-resolution Canon printer, mounted on board and finished under UV epoxy resin - a complex process that yields a durable and long-lasting finish.
